SURRENDERING YOUR DOG TO US
HALT (Help Animals Lives Today) © 2011 - 2017
Website is developed and maintained by Website to the Rescue

Thank you for seeking out our rescue program to re-home your dog into another loving home. We understand that this is a difficult decision that you are making, and we will try our best to make this process and transition happen as smooth as possible.

Certainly placing your dog through our, or any rescue program, is the most loving and humane act you can do for your dog in the event that you can no longer care for him or her. It shows a high degree of responsibility on your part, instead of just "dumping" your dog off at a local shelter, and creating a lot of painful stress and confusion for your dog.

We have 3 options available to you:

1. If we have the ability to accept your pet into our sanctuary, you can place your pet in our custody with the possibility to have it adopted out.

2. Allow us to have it transported to other no kill facilities (if it is under 5 years of age.)

3. Join our Lifetime Care Program, so it could stay at our sanctuary as long as it remains healthy and in good spirit.Veterinarian's advise would be consulted, if it becomes ill and has no more quality of life.  ~Click HERE to learn more about our Lifetime Care Program~

Below is the 3 step process that you will need to follow if you feel you can no longer keep your dog. Please read the process carefully, and follow it completely.

Please don't be deterred by the length of the below process. Much of the below text is for information purposes, and will ensure the quickest, and most successful placement possible for your dog.
